1984 Release over classical B.LEE riddims played by THE REVOLUTIONARIES
Excellent toasting by Clint Eastwood and productions by Bunny Lee (although some sound like Jammy!)
Clint Eastwood, born Robert Brammer on February 24, 1956, in Kingston, Jamaica, grew up in a musically rich environment. He was drawn to the vibrant sounds of reggae and dancehall from a young age, inspired by local sound systems and DJs. He began his career in the late 1970s, initially performing as a solo artist. His unique style, characterized by humorous and rapid-fire lyrics, quickly earned him a reputation in the local music scene.
Clint Eastwood (born Robert Brammer in Jamaica) is a pioneering dancehall deejay who gained fame for his charismatic performances and humorous lyrical style. The younger brother of legendary deejay Trinity (Wade Brammer), Clint Eastwood followed in his sibling’s footsteps, building his career in Kingston's vibrant music scene. He recorded with iconic producers such as Joe Gibbs, the Hookim brothers at Channel One, Vivian "Yabby You" Jackson, and Bunny "Striker" Lee, establishing himself as a formidable presence in the late 1970s.
In the early 1980s, Clint Eastwood relocated to London, where he expanded his repertoire with releases like ''True True Loving'' and 'Blues Night'', as well as the risqué album ''Sex Education'' for Greensleeves Records. His dynamic performances reached new heights through his partnership with deejay General Saint (Winston Hislop). Known for their lively, theatrical stage presence, the duo became a novelty act both in Jamaica and internationally. Their 1981 album ''Two Bad D.J.'' was a commercial success and remains their best-known work.
By the mid-1980s, Clint Eastwood and General Saint parted ways to pursue solo careers, but his influence on the dancehall genre remains significant. His work continues to be celebrated for its humor, energy, and contribution to the evolution of reggae and dancehall music.
